Golf Swing Mechanics, It’s all in the Wrist

For golfers there is always times when we struggle and can’t see to hit fairway’s, greens or for that matter even sink the golf ball in the hole. When this happens it’s necessary to take a look at the mechanics of your golf swing and look for your lead wrist and see if it’s remaining straight or bending when you swing through. If your wrist is bending then you’re going to either pull or hook the pall in one direction depending on which way you bend your wrist. You need to keep a strong straight wrist when following through with your swing.

Your lead wrist is what leads the head of the golf club, if your wrist twists at the last minute then so does the head of the golf club causing you to pull or hook the golf ball. To avoid this try wearing a wrist guard tool that will keep your wrist straight when you’re swinging. If your wrist is straight then the club head is straight meaning your golf ball will usually go straight.

Always look for small kinks in your golfing swing mechanics because the littlest of problems could have you left frustrated and disappointed. Often times changing your grip, stance or general approach will be enough to get out of a bad round but sometimes you’ll just need patience in order to finish off the round and wait for the next day because no matter what it seems you do nothing is working or correcting itself.

Remember a straight wrist equals a straight shot for a general rule of thumb when golfing and when you start bending the wrist during your follow-through you’re also bending the club head which causes the golf ball to shoot off in weird directions. Try wearing a wrist guard to keep your wrist straight and after awhile you won’t need the wrist guard because you’ll be able to keep your wrist straight without it.
